Michael Popovsky is an up and coming performer and vocalist with a wide range of performance experience including opera, recitals. musical theatre and standards. A native of Ridgewood, New Jersey, he now resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he is an active member of the arts community.

Michael has performed with many organizations including Opera Lancaster, Opera Seabrook, the Fulton Theatre, and Ephrata Performing Arts Center. Some of his favorite roles have included Schaunard in La Boheme, Lesgles in Les Miserables and Marullo in Rigoletto. Mr. Popovsky has also completed an apprenticeship program with Opera Naples where he performed Ceprano across from Todd Thomas, who played the title character in Rigoletto. In 2007, he obtained his B.A in music and business from Franklin and Marshall College. While in attendance, he received the Hugh Gault Award for Musical Excellence, was a two time winner of the Solo/Concerto Competition and was given the honor of being the Graduation Soloist.

Michael has had the privilege of studying with outstanding teachers and performers such as International Master Teacher of Singing, Dr. Thomas Houser, Mr. John Darrenkamp, Ms. Gwynne Geyer, and Ms. Lorraine Ernest (all international performers with credits that include the Metropolitan Opera House).

Michael plans to pursue a Masters of Music in vocal performance or opera and is looking forward to expanding his repertoire and roles.
